Overview:
The Blank STAR Center is an accredited Chapter Member of the National Children’s Alliance Child Advocacy Centers. STAR serves as a leading resource within Iowa and the UnityPoint System, facilitating a network of coordinated and comprehensive responses to child abuse. This position is responsible for operational performance of the STAR Center by monitoring the activities of all office operating components to ensure the practice meets its objectives.

Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Responsible for financial operations of the clinic. Including accounts payable, review and approve weekly time records, budget preparation, required reports, reviewing monthly financial statements and monitoring account receivable.
Employee Development:
Responsible for clinic personnel which includes interviews, hires, termination and disciplinary action. Maintains employee files and records. Prepares employee’s schedules to ensure adequate staffing. Conducts physician and staff meetings.
Performance Improvement:
Monitors duties assigned to office personnel to ensure the employees are performing their duties in a manner designed to maintain a high level of patient care.
Maintains a sufficient flow of work throughout the office by evaluating production and revising procedures accordingly.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria:
Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree required. JD, MHA, MBA, MSN preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years experience in a related field.
Licensure/Cerification: Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to hold themselves and team members accountable for all actions of the position.

Must be self-directed and assume responsibility for timely completion of job responsibilities.
Able to collaborate with diverse populations.
Must be able to interpret policies and manage staff.
Must have verbal skills required to be able communicate effectively with wide variety of customers.
