COT or Experienced Technician with Leadership experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Clinic Managerto manage the overall flow and efficiency of a free-standing clinic within our practice. The successful candidate will also perform the duties of an ophthalmic technician and front desk staff as needed. This role will involve spending 80% of the time devoted to clinic management and 20% of the time dedicated to patient-facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities: Patient Care:
- Monitor and facilitate patient flow in the clinic and in the testing rooms
- Ensure quality and safety of all patients and imaging following appropriate Evergreen Eye Center policies and procedures
- Document patient care in a timely manner that reflects recognition of the legal significance of an accurate and complete medical record
- Act as an advocate for the patient/family
- Perform complex clinical diagnostic eye testing and procedures within scope of certification
- Assist providers with minor ophthalmic imaging procedures
- Monitor and facilitate patient flow in the clinic and in the testing rooms
- Answer patient questions, address concerns, follow up questions and/or refer patient questions to providers as appropriate
- Meet and perform all job duties and responsibilities of an Ophthalmic Assistant and Scribe

- Monitor and ensure pleasant atmosphere and patient thru-put of all waiting areas
- Advocate for the patient/family by locating appropriate staff to address concerns if unable to resolve independently first
- Appropriately direct patients and others to the other departments across the practice as needed
- Act promptly and effectively in managing self, caring for patients, directing other employees, and responding to administrative needs during an emergency situation
- Develop and establish quality assessment and quality improvement activities
- Develop and establish programs to improve clinic efficiency and effectiveness
- Promote and develop working relationships between the clinic and other departments
- Develop and establish programs for training and improvement of all staff under their supervision
- Proactively provide coaching and performance feedback to staff as needed
- Conduct annual performance reviews for staff under supervision
- Participate in the orientation of new staff and act as a preceptor to new technicians or students
- Demonstrate proactive, professional communication across and within departments to facilitate smooth workflow
- Troubleshoot equipment/maintenance issues and escalate to appropriate resources as needed
- Calculate and report on performance metrics
- Create staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for projected clinic volume
- Read and interpret clinic budgets and implement effective strategies to ensure clinic success within budgetary parameters
- Monitor, correct and approve staff timecards
- Rotate to all clinical sites of service
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Active status as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or greater level of certification preferred
- Three years of experience as an ophthalmic technician
- Three years of experience in a supervisory role
- High School diploma required, college experienced preferred!
