Job description

Be a force of nature — make a difference in the global fight for a healthy climate with Climate Impact Corps. Climate Impact Project Coordinators play an important role in advancing local environmental solutions. Join Climate Impact Corps — together, we can address climate change and build healthier, more resilient communities!

As a Project Coordinator, you’ll serve at a nonprofit organization or public agency that has a mission to preserve and protect our environment. During your service, you’ll plan and lead projects that help communities mitigate and adapt to climate change. You’ll play a vital role in increasing the reach and effectiveness of site services and addressing community needs.

Join our AmeriCorps team and become part of the next generation of climate leaders! We're actively seeking members for 2024-25 program year. Put your passion into action — become a Project Coordinator and be the difference!

How You’ll Take Action

  • Facilitate outreach and education by sharing your experience
  • Support projects such as:
    • Planting and inventorying trees
    • Designing and managing nursery gravel beds

It Starts with a Passion

Our members come from all walks of life. Anyone can become a Project Coordinator as long as they have a passion to make a difference — and meet the following minimum qualifications.

By the time they begin their service, our members are:

  • Dependable and have a history of good attendance
  • Able to understand and follow instructions
  • Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed upon hours commitment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication (with attachments), databases and software use, and videoconferencing
  • Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States*
  • Able to successfully complete a background check

*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve in our programs at this time. DACA applicants may be eligible for Americorps VISTA programs. For more information, click here.

While you’re making a difference, you’ll receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks and additional perks! As an AmeriCorps program we have both federally provided benefits and program specific benefits.

Federal Benefits include:

  • Up to $7395.00 in Education Award
    • Segal AmeriCorps Education Award* which can be used to pay tuition or repay qualified student loans. Individuals 55+ at the start of their service term may gift their award to a family member. Click Here for more information.
  • Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment.
  • Time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Program Specific Benefits by hours commitment per week
