Civil Litigation Secretary

Seeking a Civil Litigation Secretary for a fast-paced, remote position with a minimum 3 years’ experience in the area of insurance defense litigation.

Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal teams in a litigation setting
- Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information
- Assist with document management, including organizing and maintaining files
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances
- Prepare correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and witness lists
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records

Skills:

- Paralegal experience or certification is preferred but not required

- Familiar with Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure, and local court rules

- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft legal documents

- Familiarity with legal drafting and formatting

- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations

- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

- Attention to detail for accurate proofreading of legal documents

- Proficient in conducting legal research using online databases

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

- Proficient in data entry and using computer software for document management

- Must have experience working on insurance defense matters

- Experience with AbacusLaw is a plus

This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
