Dispatcher
Job Summary
Primary job functions are overseeing early morning route dispatch, driver support, and asset coordination.
This position’s schedule is Monday – Friday, 12:00am – 8:00am. This is a full-time position.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to Transportation Manager.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating driver and vehicle moves as needed to ensure on-time dispatch of daily routes.
- Monitor and maintain accurate customer and route information in routing database.
- Monitor and maintain all information required by the Electronic Logging Device system
- Ensure repairs, and maintenance on vehicles are performed, and communicated in a timely manner. We utilize full-service leasing on all power equipment and trailers.
- Work with night shift management to resolve loading / selection issues related to load quality.
- Supervision and support of all drivers, while assisting with other Transportation functions as needed.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of DOT/FMCSA/ CSA 2019 regulations and requirements.
- Knowledge of Electronic Loggin Devices (ELDs) or other on-board ELD system preferred. This pertains to all functions, alerts, logs, and related reporting. Additional in-house training available.
- Working knowledge of Road-net Transportation Suite routing software.
- Ability to coordinate and multi-task in a fast-paced, team environment. Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and problems concurrently.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in oral or written form.
- Previous supervisory / management experience, ideally in a union environment.
- Minimum of one-year previous dispatch experience within the transportation field
- Minimum of two years of transportation experience, and basic computer skills including Outlook/Excel/Word.
- High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
