Summary: The Civil Designer is responsible for all drafting & design components for commercial projects within the Oil & Gas & Renewables industries. They will be responsible for the design and development of Engineering project deliverables. They generally will assist with the development and execution of Engineering exhibits, maps, and construction documents, to include, but limited to grading, drainage, roadway, and utilities.

- Creation of high quality and accurate deliverables on time and under budget
- Applying knowledge of permitting regulations to site layout and exhibit creation.
- Excellent communication, tracking and organization of assigned projects.
Essential Duties:
- Draft both 2D and 3D designs of pads, roadways, utilities, and other infrastructure systems for proposed projects.
- Produce engineering plans & construction documents on a variety of projects related to commercial development in the Oil & Gas sector, Renewable Energy, and Land Development sectors.
- Design roadways using utilizing corridors and other C3D grading objects.
- Perform grading on pad sites and other commercial projects utilizing C3D surface creation tools
- Read and interpret civil engineering drawings and building plans to determine where to place infrastructure.
- Study Maps and read maps and land surveys to note land grading, nearby structures, and other factors that could affect the placement of infrastructure.
- Follow Coding Regulations to adhere to city, county, and state laws regarding design and stay up to date on local coding laws to ensure that designs stay within legal parameters.
- Review sketches and drawings of proposed designs to ensure that all codes are being followed and plans are accurate.

- Must be familiar with 3D grading tools
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Required Education and Experience:
- AS Degree in Engineering and/or AS Degree from a Trade school program. Can substitute experience for education.
- 2+ years of experience in a Civil Designer role.
- Demonstrated experience performing grading and site design for Civil Engineering Projects
Other Need-to-know items:
- Travel is required for team events and client meetings but is anticipated to be less than ~5% of the time involved with the role.
- Calls and emails at night and on the weekends will occur.
- Extra hours will be necessary to help meet client deadlines at times.
