As a cinematographer on Tesla’s Growth Content team, you’ll work closely with our Media Production Manager, producers and non-creatives to film a variety of different content rapidly and efficiently. This content includes but is not limited to: interview/documentary style video, short-form organic/social content, paid ads and other product/lifestyle content.
- Content Production: Shoot rapid fire short-form organic and social media content that helps us highlight the benefits of our products and offerings. Capture compelling visuals for interview/documentary-style videos, ensuring a seamless blend of storytelling and visual aesthetics
- Camera Operation: Demonstrate expertise in operating a variety of professional-grade camera equipment, including but not limited to cinema cameras, drones, and other specialized tools. You’ll also support lighting of shoots as needed—both in-studio and on-location
- Shot List Development: Work together with producers to develop shot lists that best fit the needs of the video concept, and effectively estimate time needed for each set of shots
- Innovation: Continuously improve technical skills and explore new techniques to elevate the quality of Tesla's visual content
- Equipment Maintenance: Manage and maintain team video equipment as needed
- Classical cinematography and lighting training: strong sense of cinematic composition, camera movement, lighting, and knowledge of camera and lens settings and theory like RAW and LOG recording formats, sensor size, ISO, shutter angle, resolution, frame rates etc.
- Experience with industry-standard camera systems + stabilizers like Arri, RED, Venice, Movi Pro, Ronin R2, as well as with smaller camera systems like Sony FX3 and RS2/3
- Experience operating in studio mode, as well as handheld configurations
- Experience with cinematic lighting for film & commercial, using professional grip/lighting equipment in studio and on-location as well as using limited resources to augment natural light, when large lighting packages are not available
- Drone piloting experience with DJI Inspire 3 or equivalent
- Basic understanding of DIT workflows and data ingestion and experience in post-production software such as Adobe Premiere, Davinci Resolve
- Bonus: Vehicle rigging experience – both interior and exterior camera rigs, and camera crane builds
