We are an Emmy award-winning Film Team working on behalf of a 501c9 nonprofit trust that delivers high quality, affordable and accessible health care for education, municipal and public agency employees. We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the healthcare community through our creative projects and initiatives; focused on providing high quality content and experiences that inspire, educate and entertain a diverse audience. As we continue to grow and expand our reach, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Cinematographer/Editor.
Position Summary
The Cinematographer/Editor will take projects from concept through shooting to a final, high-quality edited, color graded and sound mixed piece. This requires an artistic eye for composition, camera movement, and lighting, as well as working collaboratively with the creative team and on-screen talent. It also will require a demonstrated creative ability to edit, color grade, and add motion graphics as needed. The Cinematographer/Editor will create finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the Senior Film Director and creative team. A solid background in related production activities and/or motion graphics development is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge, ability, responsibility and understanding how to operate and working with Cinema Lenses.
  • Extensive Knowledge operating Cinematographic Cameras such, RED, Black Magic, Panasonic GH5s, Canon and Sony.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of creativity and attention to detail.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
  • Strong understanding of shot composition for video.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling.
  • Experience working location film and photography sets.
  • Experience working in studio environments.
  • Grip and Gaffing comprehension.
  • Knowledge of most video codecs and formats and the ability to ingest, transcode, and move between camera workflows and formats flawlessly.
  • Experience producing creative briefs and storyboards.
  • Experience with social media distribution channels.
  • Hands-on experience with camera stabilization systems and sliders.
  • Basic understanding of sound recording for digital production.
  • Experience working within a file-based photo and video environment. Knowledge of data storage devices (memory cards, hard drives, etc.). Understanding of video and audio formats and associated codecs technology.
  • Ability to work occasionally outside normal business hours and weekends.
  • Ability to provide a portfolio and/or demo reel for review.
  • Bring fresh and creative ideas to the table for new avenues of video production.
  • Maintain knowledge in upcoming trends and new technologies. Manage the technical aspects of a video set including professional handling of cameras, confidently rigging lighting, and help create sets in pre-production.
  • Demonstrate creative decision-making and problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and multi-tasking abilities both on-set and in the office.
  • Conceptualize, write, edit, and produce scripts as needed.
  • Help manage equipment and inventory responsibly on shoots.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute video shoots, including transporting, setting up, and operating equipment.
  • Add music, dialogue, graphics, and effects.
  • Manage color correction, audio balancing, timing, and pacing.
  • Part 107 Certified (preferred).
  • Ability to manage/upload large files/footage drops in G Suite at a timely manner.
  • Ability to follow through with detailed shot lists with quick turnarounds.

Qualifications

  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
  • A degree in TV or Film; Media Production, Visual Technology or related field is preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of industry-based experience.
  • Video production, cinematic lighting and strong editing skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe CC (particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) and/or DaVinci Resolve or other industry-standard editing platforms.
  • Professional experience on location and studio sets.
  • Passionate about learning and driven to stay ahead of quickly evolving technology.
  • A degree in TV, Film, Documentaries, Media Production; Visual Technology or related field is preferred.
  • Provide a "Reel" with samples from previous film productions.

Bonus Skills:
These skills are not required but will improve your candidacy:
  • Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software
  • Experience with motion graphics software
  • Experience with design editing software
  • Ability to travel frequently for production

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk or computer
  • Travel required
  • Carrying Pelican cases up to 60lbs
