CHILD, FAMILY & COMMUNITY LIAISON / PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR II

The CHILD, FAMILY & COMMUNITY LIAISON PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR II reports to the Principal/Program Director of Child Development Centers. The PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR II is a Program Administrator performing consultancy and community outreach work responsive to program and family needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect and analyze data from children, staff and families in their natural settings, which may require home visits.
Work collaboratively with State Preschool staff, administrators, consultants and families to create Child Success Team (CST) action plans and goals that are responsive to individual children’s needs.
Serve in an advisory capacity to staff, families, administrators and consultants participating in CST meetings.
Develop and sustain productive partnerships with staff, families and the community for the purpose of helping children experience success in preschool and at home.
Engage in continuous learning about the various community resource agencies in Redwood City and surrounding cities, and the means through which families gain access to critical resources.
Connect State Preschool families directly to community service agencies as needed.
Coach State Preschool staff and families in implementing action plans and goals for individual children.
Participate in State Preschool professional development and leadership team meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
5-year experience as a counselor to children, families and educators.
Strong organization, communication and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of the classroom challenges faced by preschool educators.
Ability to negotiate and mediate conflicts to achieve win-win solutions.
Skillful in group facilitation, problem-solving and decision making.
Ability to connect families to needed community resources.
Experience with using data collection and analysis to plan for children’s success at preschool and at home.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
EDUCATION
Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, Psychology or a related field.
P.P.S. or M.F.T. certification strongly desired.
Physical Abilities:
Sufficient vision to read material with or without vision aides;
Sufficient hearing to conduct in-person conversations with students, teachers and parents;
Sufficient voice volume to be heard at normal conversational distances;
Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time;
Physical, mental and emotional stamina to endure stressful conditions;
Use hands to touch, handle, reach, feel objects, controls, or tools;
Ability to demonstrate gross and fine motor skills and movements to students
Occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds;
