QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Prefer Ag Related Degree and/or "School of hard Knocks"
- 5+ years of experience in a senior management role within a comparable structure or operation
- Experience managing an extended team is preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in Ranch, Feedlot and Processing operations
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to professionally represent the farm in business and environmental areas
- Demonstrate understanding of operational planning, and financial and human resource management
- Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills
- An entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative working style
- Create and maintain efficient organizational and inventory management systems for product
- Implement and maintain excellent quality control with plant manager

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Chief Operations Officer for this large progressive Ranch Operation in Montana. This person will lead Ranch company operations, with primary focus on maximizing quality and revenue from their Cow/Calf, Feedlot and Beef Processing production operations. Oversees daily business operations and works alongside CEO to ensure that the business is meeting it maximum potential. They will provide consultation and support to additional Ranch operations (including but not limited to production and sales, real estate, and cow/calf, feedlot and processing divisions). This person will create and preserve positive working climate, which encourages creative solutions and solid approaches. Lead development of ROI and cash flow-focused business plan. Oversee projections for supply and demand with feedlot managers. This person will sustain top-quality operations while maintaining company layout. Person will ensure business is conducted in a profitable, sound and ethical manner. Follow markets and keep product pricing current and profitable. Must be willing to learn beef cuts and anticipate customers needs. Must be excellent communicator who enjoys working with a strong management team. This position provides a unique opportunity for a highly motivated, responsible, experienced, entrepreneurial manager to grow with a dynamic ranch operation.
