Job Description
The COO will have full executive responsibility and authority for operations of the company on a day-to-day basis. Working with ownership, the COO will set the strategies and goals for the company and then have accountability for their implementation and achievement.
The Company desires to expand and diversify its business portfolio and further desires a candidate that understands and has a passion to grow the business, develop strategic partnerships, find opportunities for acquisitions that will promote the growth desired.
The ownership desires a candidate that is a hands on leader/manager, has a "can do" attitude, creative thinker.
Importantly, the successful candidate is a people person promoting a true teamwork culture, not afraid of getting hands into whatever level ff the organization whether working directly with drivers, mechanics, sales people or working with ownership on long term strategies promoting the growth desired.
The position is new and the ownership desires a person willing to grow, and benefit as he or she works to grow company - not looking for a short term commitment.
As to the basic Key Responsibilities.
· Organize and lead a program of strategic planning for presentation and acceptance of ownership that will ensure the long-term growth and profitability of the company.
· Develop an effective company performance dashboard which consistently measures key performance indicators.
· Design and populate a company organizational structure which supports the attainment of company strategies and goals.
· Develop and lead a successful budgeting discipline.
· Establish company resource needs and coordinate their acquisition with ownership.
· Lead development and implementation of a marketing program that supports desired revenue growth.
· Lead and manage the day-to-day accomplishment of customer services.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and the safe implementation of customer services.
· Establish capital funds requirements and coordinate maintenance of capital needs with ownership.
· Maintain relationships with outside legal and accounting professional services.
· Maintain industry relations and thought leadership positions.
· Lead key prospect/customer relations/sales efforts.
Qualifications.
· 7 to 10 years of successful general management experience with P&L responsibility.
· Transportation industry experience is a major plus but not required.
· DOT compliance experience is a plus.
· Demonstration of success in migrating general strategies into working level performance.
· Experience as an integrator with Entrepreneurial Operation System (EOS) is a plus.
· Strong understanding of IT, software, applications, and overall technology.
· Impeccable management and interpersonal skills.
· An action-oriented, creatively proactive spirit is a must.
· Knowledge with business acquisition, strategic planning and business diversification.
Compensation
While the COO will receive an attractive, market competitive salary, the ideal candidate will be particularly excited by the open-ended, performance management-based backend which will allow the President to “shoot for the moon” and get paid accordingly for reaching it. Base pay with bonus potential.
