Our gear is designed by players, for players. Who We Are Looking For: We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site role in South Hackensack, NJ for Chief Financial Officer in our Sports Division. As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a teamwear and sports apparel company, your role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities related to the company's financial management and strategic planning. Here's an overview of some key responsibilities you might have: Responsibilities: Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury management. Optimize financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Develop and oversee the company's financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making by the executive team. Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders. Capital Management: Manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity financing. Evaluate investment opportunities and assess their financial impact on the company's overall performance and growth strategy. Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's financial health. Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. Investor Relations: Manage relationships with investors and financial analysts, including communication of financial performance and strategic initiatives. Participate in earnings calls, investor presentations, and other investor-related activities. Lead financial due diligence efforts for potential M&A transactions. Tax Planning and Compliance: Develop tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns and manage relationships with tax authorities. In addition to these responsibilities, as a CFO in the teamwear and sports apparel industry, you may also need to stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive dynamics that could impact the company's financial performance and strategic direction. Effective communication and leadership skills are also essential for building and leading a high-performing finance team that can support the company's goals and objectives. Qualifications To be successful as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the sports and teamwear industry, you typically need a combination of education, skills, and experience. Here are some qualifications that are commonly sought after: Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is usually required. Many CFOs also hold advanced degrees such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master of Finance (MFin). Professional Certification: While not always mandatory, obtaining professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Chartered Accountant (CA) can enhance your credibility and qualifications as a CFO. Experience: Significant experience (at least 5 to 7 years) in finance and accounting roles is essential, with progressively increasing responsibilities. This may include roles such as financial analyst, controller, treasurer, or director of finance. Experience specifically within the apparel industry or related consumer goods industries is highly desirable due to the unique dynamics and challenges of these sectors. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the apparel industry, including its supply chain dynamics, consumer trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment. Familiarity with the unique financial challenges and opportunities within the apparel industry, such as seasonality, inventory management, and brand positioning. Financial Skills: Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, including proficiency in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights to support decision-making at the executive level. Leadership and Management Skills: Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing finance teams. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development and execution of the company's overall strategic plan. Experience in evaluating and executing strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, capital investments, and business expansion opportunities. Regulatory Compliance: Thorough understanding of financial regulations and accounting standards relevant to the apparel industry, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with financial management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems commonly used in this type of industry for financial planning, reporting, and analysis. Adaptability and Resilience: This type ofl industry is dynamic and subject to rapid changes in consumer preferences, market trends, and economic conditions. A successful CFO should be adaptable and resilient in navigating these changes and driving the company's financial success.
