Who We Are Looking For:

SCDC is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for our parent company looking for a career where they can significantly impact the world.

The Chief Executive Officer will be part of a team of 4 direct reports which also include the Chief Legal Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Administrative Officer who report directly to the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer (CVO) of SCDC.

This role calls for an individual who bridges multiple fields and demonstrates capabilities in corporate organizational leadership and real estate industry expertise including but not limited to community planning and development management, project management, construction management, procurement management, architectural management, engineering management, sales and marketing management, interior design and landscape management, manufacturing management, and most importantly people and process management.

CEO RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate closely with their 3 peers (CLO, CFO and CAO), in connection with carrying out all plans and visions of the CVO and contribute advice during strategic planning sessions to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Partner with peers and CVO to define and execute a strategic plan to achieve the parent company's short-term and long-term goals.
  • Ensure that decisions made align with the company's financial goals, budgets, investment choices, and resource allocation.
  • Our roles are not traditional given that our company is disruptive and innovative when it comes to organizational design and corporate practices. Therefore, the CEO does not lead all the traditional functions as it would in a typical organization.
  • Thus, this role will be accountable and responsible to hire, onboard and effectively provide leadership and direction to the Chief Business Officer, Chief Procurement Officer, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Design Officer.
  • The overall scope of these roles cover leading Sales & Revenue, Procurement,
  • Construction Operations and Architecture / Design.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of the 4 departments by reviewing investment choices, resource allocation, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other metrics.
  • Implement systems and processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify and drive innovation within the department to remain competitive and seize new opportunities.
  • Provide leadership to department personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, communication, conducting staff meetings as needed, assigning tasks, directing goals, and coordinating work.
  • Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and professional development, ensuring staff members receive proper supervision and guidance.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field, MBA or PhD and 10 years plus of relevant experience; or comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership as a CEO, COO, or similar executive position within a relevant industry, preferably in real estate.
  • A record of accomplishments of successful executive leadership, preferably in a senior management role, such as CEO, COO, or President.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing corporate strategies that align with the company's mission and goals.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and expansion/growth initiatives.
  • Strong decision-making skills, including the capacity to make critical decisions and take accountability for outcomes.
  • Experience leading a team in a startup environment is desirable.
  • A commitment to innovation and the capacity to adapt to changing market conditions and industry trends.
  • High-level experience representing an organization externally, with exposure to media and public speaking before large, high-profile groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage time sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and the workforce.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical behavior, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • The ability to attract, inspire, and lead high-performing teams and create a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrated ability to motivate a team and inspire greatness.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • This position is in Downtown Houston, Texas 77002.
  • The minimum salary is $312,000, the maximum $780,000 and may be adjusted based on experience, education, knowledge, skills, and previous salary history.
  • This is a primarily on-site role (Monday through Friday). Given the nature of the business, we do not offer remote working opportunities.
  • The ideal candidate is seeking immediate employment and can be available to start immediately or within a maximum of two weeks upon final employment agreement.
  • Limited relocation assistance may be provided for the ideal candidate if necessary.
