How to be Successful in the Role:
You will quickly gain an understanding of our services and needs, learn our systems and related intersections, and then apply best practices and implement standard operating procedures. As a big-picture strategic thinker, we look to you to plan, assign, and carry out administrative programs, projects, and services that comply with the legal requirements of the Clerk's Office. Your ability to work with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds, as well as establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, public and private officials, unit managers, clients, providers, and the public, will be vital to your success. You will be instrumental in guiding inclusive decision-making for continuous process improvement across the department.
Your Future in this Role:
This position will provide you the opportunity to offer mentorship to other supervisory and managerial staff. Over time, you will create and maintain meaningful and lasting partnerships within the community. Once fully trained, you will have the opportunity to educate the public on functions of the Clerk's Office. This role will allow for a rich understanding of in the legislative process. Core Daily Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate all functions of the Clerk's Office, including receiving filings of all types of litigation at the Superior Court level; managing court files and recordings of all required documents; certification and exemplification of records; preparing dockets and reports and the collection and disbursement of funds.
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of the budget and its subsequent cost control and monitoring. Assist in determining priorities on budget items, develop alternatives, provide fiscal analysis, and oversee rate adjustment and revenue/expenditure. Review and interpret financial and operating information and direct the development of periodic financial/operating analyses.
  • Develop and implement operating policies, procedures, recordkeeping, and strategic improvements to operations and systems consistent with applicable regulations and departmental goals.
  • Analyze and assess department facilities and equipment to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Direct quasi-judicial duties including the issuance of writs, orders, subpoenas, and related matters.

  • Additional education or experience which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of this position may substitute on a year for year basis.
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in business or public administration or related field.
  • Four or more years of related experience including at least one year in a supervisory/lead capacity is required.
