Crysalis is a55 Mgal/yr ethanol facility in Sauget, Illinois which operates 24/7. We are transforming this 57-acre asset from conventional fuel ethanol production to a 30 Mgal/yr Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production facility. This $200 MM project applies our intellectual property portfolio with plant design and construction capabilities to retrofit this plant to produce low carbon intensity SAF.
Process Operator - This an entry level position with all internal training provided. This position works at 12 hour shift, 6-6, 4 days on, 4 days off and rotates 2 weeks of day, 2 weeks of nights. The starting pay rate for this position is $22-$25/hr. During the training process you will receive certifications which qualifies you for a pay increase. We all you to move as quickly as possible through the training process to achieve the top pay rate of $30.35/hr. This can be completed within 12-18 months.
Summary:
Oversees the daily operation of an assigned area of the production process within the plant. Working a 12-hour shift schedule while maintaining a safe work environment. Monitors and maintains production quality and equipment, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the Company.
Essential Job Functions
- Monitors and controls plant operations.
- Reviews the operation of the plant constantly to monitor production and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Participates in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Documents and monitors process variables, sample data and routine tasks as required for position, to ensure plant operations are maintained within operating parameters.
- Participates in Quality Assurance/Quality Control program, interprets results, and takes appropriate action when required.
- Communicates with all departments within the facility to ensure safe and efficient execution of daily plant activities.
- Monitors and troubleshoot process issues and equipment.
- Performs scheduled Operations Work Requests as requested by Supervisor or Plant Management.
- Prepares equipment to ensure it is safe for maintenance/contractors to perform scheduled work.
- Utilizes company safe work practices to ensure all work is performed safely.
- Participates in safety, health, and environmental programs (LOTO-lock out tag out, Safe Work Permit, FSMA-Food Safety Modernization Act).
- Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
- Monitors use and inventories of process chemicals and supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned to maintain a safe, reliable, and consistent operation.
Qualifications:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively.
- Strong analytical and mechanical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Associate Degree in Process Technology or equivalent a plus.
- Experience in the operation of a dry-mill ethanol plant preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures, and values.
- Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, and lift a minimum of 50 lb
- Must be able to adapt to outside work environments which could include cold, heat, wind, rain, snow and slippery surfaces
- Individual will be exposed to high noise levels at times
