Chassis Integration Engineer

Job Description:

As a Chassis Integration Engineer at Mickey Truck Body, you will play a crucial role in integrating our custom-built bodies on the OEM chassis. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around integrating various chassis components to ensure optimum vehicle performance, safety, and durability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class delivery vehicles to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chassis System Design: Collaborate with the internal and OEM engineering teams to design, develop, and optimize the body integration to the chassis.
  • Component Integration: Integrate various aftermarket components, including camera systems, driver assist systems, communication systems, etc.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that the completed vehicle meets all safety and regulatory standards, working closely with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary certifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, electrical, and manufacturing, to coordinate and align Chassis Integration with overall vehicle design.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues or challenges related to Chassis Integration, resolving them in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of design specifications, test results, and project progress.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in chassis engineering or automotive systems integration, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of chassis components, such as suspension systems, steering, brakes, and their integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for designing and modeling chassis components, Solid Edge, Solidworks, or Inventor.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to automotive chassis systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A passion for automotive technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative vehicles.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing Work Environment that will at times provide exposure to weather, noise intensity level, and proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
