Harrison County Hospital is seeking to hire a Charge Nurse, RN.
STATUS: Full-time
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor degree in nursing required, Master's preferred.
- Completion of hospital approved critical care course and/or comparable experience in critical care nursing and/or emergency room.
SKILLS:
- CPR, ACLS, and PALS trained.
- Venipuncture Skills.
- Ability to accurately monitor cardiac rhythms.
Under the direction of the department of nursing service, the Charge Nurse will be responsible for the overall operations of the nursing staff as they attend to the immediate patient care needs while admitted to the hospital. The Charge Nurse provides leadership, direction, coordination, and administration to the nursing department. The Charge Nurse's practice possesses characteristics identified in the nursing profession's standards of practice, nurse's code of ethics, and the Indiana nurse practice act. In Inherent in this practice is the nursing process; the assessment of the patient status, the plan of nursing actions, the implementation of that plan and the evaluation of the plan. The Charge Nurse will assist in supervising RNs, CNAs and Techs.
