Summary of Need:
Experienced Medical Biller and Certified Professional Coder for multi-specialist ambulatory and surgical practices. Requires active coding, specifically surgical coding and billing for at least 3 years. Strong knowledge of change entry and the assignment of ICD-10, HCPCS/CPT procedure codes, modifiers (when applicable). Solid knowledge on denials and follow up on insurance claims.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Requires active coding, specifically surgical coding and billing for at least 3 years.
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to assign appropriate diagnosis, evaluation and management and procedure codes.
- Collaborates with providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Follow up on claims, including tracking denials, resolving underpayments in a timely manner. managing refunds, and filing appeals
- Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of surgery coding and billing.
- Ability to submit charges in a timely manner.
- Charge reconciliation.
- Analyzing charges and/or coding information and reporting to physicians.
- Solid Knowledge of insurance.
- Experience navigating insurance company web sites.
- Must be able to work with multiple levels of the organization.
- Ability to work and thrive under pressure while handling multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines.
- Detailed oriented and solid problem solving and investigative skills a must
- Education: Associate Degree
- Requires active coding, specifically surgical coding and billing for at least 3 years.
- Minimum 3 years of multi-specialty physician practice coding and auditing experience required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes and insurance policies.
- Strong communication, follow up and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate EMR and Microsoft application experience.
- Normal office environment.
- Monday to Friday
- 8am to 4pm
- Contract Length: 13 weeks, with possibility of an extension or temp to perm. Which will depend on the facility need and your attendance and performance.
