SalaryThe medical billing specialist will be responsible for all activities related to health insurance and medical billing. This position will also be responsible for activities such as communicating with insurance companies regarding benefits checks, authorizations, billing, claims, reconciliation of payments, denials, appeals, patient responsibilities, invoicing etc.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Benefits checks for clients
- Submit for insurance authorizations and follow-up on any authorization documentation required.
- Utilize EMR system for billing
- Reconcile insurance payments with insurance claims
- Follow-up with insurance companies about claim denials
- Appeal claims electronically or in writing when necessary
- Client collections
- A/R Management
- Keep all team members informed, detect issues, report on them, and have the skills to know how to keep the appropriate parties informed so that corrective action can be achieved.

- Collaboration with scheduling and intake coordinators
Requirements
- 3+ years of medical billing experience
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Detail oriented with excellent organization skills
- Advanced computer proficiency with excel
- Self-motivated, reliable and takes ownership accountability for their work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
