Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. We are seeking an knowledgeable and experienced COTA to join our team!
Job Summary:
Helps Occupational Therapy patients by providing rehabilitative services, under the direction of occupational therapists, to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments. Treats disabilities, injuries and diseases according to the prescription of a physician and plan of care created by the Occupational Therapist with the various modalities and skills of the profession for people suffering from mental, physical, emotional or developmental impairments. Carries out treatment plans to restore, compensate or adapt for loss of patient function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for carrying out treatment in accordance with the physician's prescription, and as planned/ documented by a supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Responsible for observing all hospital rules relative to the care and treatment of patients.
- Responsible for the care of equipment and apparatus, economical use of supplies, lines and utilities, and the cleanliness of the department.
- Responsible for compliance in documentation as required by the Hospital and Rehabilitation department policies and procedures.
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of treatment.

Requirements
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. Must have state licensure and the national certification requirements met.
Experience: With educational requirements met, no prior experience is necessary. One year in a hospital is preferred with the ability to fabricate all varieties of splints required.
Skills: Bedside manner. Genuine concern for completeness and organization. Have a working knowledge of policies and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent shall understand this position may require varied hours and weekend work, as dictated to meet the patient's needs.
Knowledge: Accurate, mature, flexible person who is meticulous to detail. Demonstrates responsibility to patient / employee confidentiality.
Abilities: Ability to coordinate and prioritize exercises and activities to achieve optimum functioning.
