Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services to patients in various settings. Duties:
- Provide therapeutic interventions and exercises to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being
- Help patients develop or regain daily living skills and independence
- Monitor and document patients' progress during therapy sessions
- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to modify treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies for continued progress at home
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Experience:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to adapt treatment plans based on individual patient needs and progress
- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during therapy sessions
- Empathy and patience to provide compassionate care to individuals facing physical or cognitive limitations
- Organizational skills to maintain accurate documentation and manage multiple patient cases
