Ceiling Tile Installer

Good day Construction Workers!

We are based in Racine, WI, and we are looking to hire one or two new Ceiling Tile Installers to help us service Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. We are willing to train from the ground up, and pay will be based on your current experience and how quickly you progress. The following is a description of the duties involved...

Interior installation of acoustical ceiling grid and tile in commercial facilities and residential homes.

Layout and attach wire of various lengths and gauge to ceiling support structures. Attach wall angle to interior walls of various materials. Layout and hang steel grid in both 2x2 & 2x4 configurations. Cut and install both flat and revealed edge 2x2 and 2x4 tiles around borders of rooms.

License and reliable transportation is a must! We do have 2 company vehicles that are used to transport material and/or carpooling, there will be times when you will need to drive your personal vehicle to the job sites. We will set up a place to meet for carpooling if possible, depending on where the job is located in an attempt to limit the use of personal vehicles. The contracts we complete are located throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, and Northern Illinois.

Working hours on the job site are 6:45 AM – 3:30 PM for commercial and 7:00 AM – 3:30 AM for residential (30-minute lunch). Some days may require additional time before or after the job site hours to load and/or haul materials. Workdays are Monday – Saturday, during busy periods we do ask some employees to work outside of the normal schedule but compensate appropriately. Please keep in mind, we are a construction company, and there may be times where there the job requires night work, or extended travel. But again, when these projects arise, we handle hotel/motel accommodations and compensate appropriately.

The job requires the ability to lift and transport cartons of tiles, grid, and the appropriate tools for the job. There will also be a list of requirements for tools at the time of interview and/or hire. The company does supply the higher priced tools that are necessary, including tools such as lasers, vipers, trakit etc.. Employees are required to have their own hand tools, such as a drill, snips, circle cutter etc...

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Driver’s License (Required)
• US work authorization (Required)
• Construction Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Hand tools (some hand tools can be purchased from company)

JOB DUTIES WOULD INCLUDE: (training provided in all areas if necessary)

• MUST be able to read and understand project blue prints. Specifically the Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCP)
• Under guidance of RCP’s and drawings, have ability to measure and mark surfaces for lay out of work.
• Must have a good understanding of the acoustical ceiling grid system and how it installs.
• Must be able to layout a ceiling on paper prior to installation. Training provided if necessary.
• Capable to mechanically fasten or hang support wires from building structure for acoustical ceiling grid assembly.
• Attach wall molding to various types of wall materials. Mostly drywall; secured using company provided staple guns.
• Guide the position the alignment of grid main runners, 4 foot, and 2 foot Tees.
• Properly cut and curf border tiles.
• Properly cut and curf tile around various obstacles.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to communicate clearly

• Ability to multi-task
• Attention to detail
• Proactive in looking ahead and anticipating potential issues or opportunities
• 1+ years of acoustical ceiling installation experience (preferred)
• Must have solid understanding of installation capabilities surrounding all aspects of acoustical ceilings from start to finish
• Must be able to work individually and as a team player
• Dependable transportation to and from the jobsite
