CEI INSPECTOR
C.A.P. Engineering, Inc. is seeking to hire a CEI Technician. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to join our team of construction professionals. The selected individual will be assigned to one or more active construction sites and be responsible for verifying the quality and compliance of project activities. The position provides daily surveillance of the Contractor's Quality Control activities at the project site and performs sampling and testing of materials in the vicinity of the project site for verification and acceptance. Duties also include maintaining a daily log of construction and inspection activities and comparing progress reports.
Job Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Inspector will be responsible for inspecting construction work and conducting field tests for compliance with contract documents.
- Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work.
- Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work.
- Inspect the construction work and conduct field tests.
- Maintain detailed records of the contractor's daily operations including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work.
- Monitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues.
- Monitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited university
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- A list of additional preferred qualifications below:
- EIT Certification.
- DOT Certification.
- OSHA 10 Certificate.
- TQP Concrete Field Technician Levels I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Levels I & II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Levels I & II
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection and/or CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
- CTQP Grouting Technician Level I, CTQP Post-Tensioning Technician Level I*
- ACI Concrete I
- IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I*
- IMSA Fiber Optic Technician Level I and II*
- FDOT Intermediate MOT
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
