Job Description
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Daily documentation of contractor’s work efforts.
- Project field book preparation and documentation.
- Density log book preparation and documentation.
- Material sampling and testing.
- Assisting with preparation of the Final Estimates package.
- Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout.
- Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations.
- Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.
- Obtains and prepares material samples for laboratory testing.
- Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepts installation.
- Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
- Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.
What you'll need
- High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
- Or a Civil Engineering Degree and FE (or EIT) Certification with the ability to earn additional required Inspector qualifications with the initial year of employment
- Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.

- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- FDOT Intermediate MOT
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
- Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects).
- Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime (Hourly).
