Summary/Objective

The Senior Sales Manager will play a significant role to lead the Appliance Sales team and meet our ambitious customer/project acquisition goals as well as revenue/profit growth objectives.

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work is required as job duties demand. This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequently, travel is outside the local area and overnight. Some of the travel is international.

Essential Functions

  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales target as well as profit target set for the Appliance Sales team
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and to expand the company’s customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends, reporting on the forces that shift tactical and strategic direction of accounts
  • Closely communicate with multiple stakeholders, such as customers, production partners and other affiliate companies, and coordinate activities among them to achieve growth objectives
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the external sales forces such as independent sales representatives in order to achieve the revenue targets
  • Provide ongoing support and leadership in the area of change management to ensure business process improvement initiatives are effectively implemented and managed
  • Diligently monitor, track, and manage allocated budget for sales activity related costs
  • Travel locally and outside of local region including international travel to facilitate business goals as needed
  • Understand D&B ratings to remain alert for financial risk of customers and cooperate with accounting and inside sales team when executing actions to mitigate the financial risk with customers
  • Develop financial and operational estimates and present sales projections
  • Research and identify potential customers
  • Research market and technological information affecting the company’s products
  • Develop and implement proactive sales methods

  • Proven ability to calculate figures and amount such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions percentages, area, circumference and volume

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has responsibility to supervise all the members in the Appliance Sales team.  The Senior Sales Manager responsibilities include:

  • Provide direction and delegate responsibilities to subordinate
  • Train, coach, motivate subordinate
  • Evaluate work performed by subordinate and provide both positive and constructive feedback in timely manner
  • Develop cohesive team
  • Provide cross-training to ensure maximum productivity
  • Adjust workflow as necessary in order to meet deadlines
  • Contribute to employment decisions (i.e. hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, termination)

Work Environment

  •  This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  •  The Senior Sales Manager may be required to travel for business and work beyond normal business hours when necessary.
  •  The Senior Sales Manager will occasionally be involved with factory tours, prototype trial attendance with customers, and trouble-shooting activities in a factory environment.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to pick-up, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • This position requires vision abilities such as close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and the ability to distinguish colors.
