WHO WE ARE
The Salty is an artisan donut shop that focuses on chef-made, craft donuts that rotate based on seasonality. We use nothing but the highest quality ingredients and make everything in house! Naturally, we don’t use any artificial ingredients in anything we make, because, well - that’s gross! If we wouldn’t serve it to our own family, we definitely wouldn’t serve it to yours! Coffee? Yep! We serve Intelligentsia Coffee and have crafted a coffee menu that pleases all palettes. Lastly, to what makes The Salty- The Salty, is our obsession with customer service. Today’s day and age it’s so easy to get lost in your phone, lost in the madness of the world, so we try to create an environment that is an escape from that hazy life. A place that you know as a customer you’ll receive a positive consistent donut and experience each time. This obsession all starts with you.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Salty is a fast-paced, team-oriented operation both in the back and front of house. The primary focus of our company’s management team is to lead by example, inspire, effectively and openly communicate and be collaborative with the rest of their team. There’s no “I” @ The Salty. There’s nothing that anyone is “too qualified” to do. We’re all working with the same intentions and for the same goal, which is to make The Salty not only the most delicious donut shop around, but also a benchmark in the F&B industry when it comes to experiential food and beverage. THE JOB
The number one priority of our Guest Experience/Catering Experience Team Member is handling the execution of events and catering orders while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction with every customer they interact with. They do this by approaching every interaction with positivity, a genuine smile, and a passion for making people happy. Our Catering Experience Team Members use their contagious energy and enthusiasm to leave a lasting great impression with all of our customers. They are responsible for assisting the Catering Manager and Catering Coordinator in their region with orders and event operations including but not limited to: event setup, deliveries, cashiering, donut packing, and maintaining a high level of cleanliness. The scope of this position includes consistent and varied shifts based on catering needs.

ABOUT YOU:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- The ability to understand customers on a personal level, no matter what the situation may be (positive or negative) or who the customer is.
- Flexibility to work during weekends and holidays.
- Open availability to work varied shifts
- The ability to drive our company vehicles and/or trailers to and from events as needed.
- Lift and/or move heavy objects occasionally for event set up (must be able to lift at least 30lbs)
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
- Fluency to read and communicate in English
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting customers in person with a happy, positive, genuine smile all of the time to ensure they feel welcomed and at home.
- Hitch and drive company vehicles and trailers to and from events as needed.
- Check product quality and alert the Store Manager or Catering Sales Manager whenever donuts don’t look like they meet our quality standards.
- Neatly packing and bagging all donut orders for clients to their specifications.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all seasonal changes to our menu.
- Your Catering Manager will keep you in the loop with all of the changes to the menu and offerings as they come up.
- Escalating difficult questions and concerns to your Catering Manager or Coordinator as needed - no problem is too small & no question is too silly!
- Maintaining 100% accuracy when using the POS system and handling money
- Setting up for events: table displays, donut walls, camper pop-ups
- Ensuring event setups and the camper are kept sparkling clean at all times
- Wiping down packing area and ensuring the counter top is as clean as possible / keeping a table setup or donut wall free of crumbs at weddings, etc
- Breaking down event setups and taking to trash on site or at the store / kitchen.
- Completing opening and closing event/order checklists, always seeking to set the next shift up for success.
- Adhering to all safety and health regulation policies set forth at The Salty Donut.
- Helping put away deliveries of boxes, paper goods, and other inventory items as needed when delivered.
- Checking product quality and FIFO (first in ; first out) throughout your shift; alerting supervisors whenever donuts don’t look like they meet our quality standards
- Other related responsibilities as assigned
