Established in 1908, Houston Country Club is a widely recognized Platinum Club of America that is home to over 1250 Houston families who annually host over 1,100 events at the Club. We are currently looking to onboard a new Catering & Special Events Manager to assist our current team. This position will be pivotal in promoting the Club for member activities and social events as well as developing new areas of member utilization. Our ideal candidate is a professional with impeccable communication skills, experience in hotels, private clubs, or event planning, and is sales target driven. This position reports directly to the Director of Catering.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Working with members and guests to organize and plan business and social events within the club.
- Weekly organization and distribution of banquet event orders.
- Communication and follow up to member inquiries.
- Act as a liaison between the Catering office and other departments of the club, including golf, tennis, fitness, pool, kitchen and others.
- Assists with developing marketing materials for Club events.
- Liaison between Club and vendors.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of catering and special event experience or hotel event experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree, Hospitality Management preferred (suitable industry experience may be a substitute)
- Knowledge of and experience in private club/hospitality industry is helpful.
- Familiarity with golf and tennis operations is a plus.
- Clear and effective communication abilities.
- Dependable and passionate.
- Pro-active and detail oriented, able to manage multiple projects and tasks, sense of urgency.
- Passion for food and beverage.
- Knowledge of basic and industry software programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, Canva, Flipsnack, Social Tables, etc.
