JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of the Cash Research Specialist is to is to research and resolve unapplied payments for all subsidiaries. Process refunds and reconcile accounts.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Pulls Anterra report and researches and resolves unapplied payments for all subsidiaries.
  • Communicates with customers to obtain remittance details for accurate posting.
  • Working closely with the AR Specialists and Cash Application team members on unapplied payments.
  • Update the Top 30 and unapplied cash payments report to show progress.
  • Process customer refunds for all subsidiaries.
  • Work with acquisition staff to clear up all unapplied payments after the AR is uploaded.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications.

Education, Training, Certifications:

  • Associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or similar; preferred.

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:

  • 3 years relevant work experience in accounts receivables and cash applications, required.
  • 3 years of account reconciliation and Cash Research, preferred.

Communication Skills:

  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Systems and Software Skills:

  • Ability to operate a computer, use Microsoft Office, required.
  • Strong Excel knowledge, preferred.
  • Experience with ADP and/or Timberline (Sage), preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, required.
  • Must be able to comply with Summit’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods. Employee will occasionally be required to bend, kneel, balance, lift <20lb, walk, stand, ascend/descend stairs, drive, twist, and reach above and below shoulders. Employee will frequently be required to drive and walk for periods.

Work Environment:

Employee will consistently be required to work indoors in an office setting, work alone and with others. Employees will occasionally be required to work outside, and be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards and noise. Employee must occasionally wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies while visiting locations.
