Case Worker - Mica Specialist

Job Title: Case Manager (MICA Counselor)

Columba Services Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals who have struggled with homelessness. Many of our residents have experienced significant trauma in their lives and are struggling with mental illness and/or substance use disorder. We provide a safe and stable environment for all the individuals we serve while treating them with Respect and Dignity. A Harm Reduction approach is used at Columba Services.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

· Provide direct service to tenants individually and in group settings.

· Facilitate groups for tenants focused on harm reduction and wellness.

· Work within a team to maximize addressing tenant needs.

· Engage and communicate with tenant providers to best meet the needs of the tenant.

· Update referral sources for tenants.

· Whenever possible, collaborate with providers to have a shared service agreement with management approval.

· Assist with coordination of staff trainings when possible (i.e. Narcan, etc.)

· Document appropriately and maintain records in accordance with funding source.

· Actively participate in staff and community meetings.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

· Ability to communicate effectively.

· Have good problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or similar

· CASAC preferred

· At least three years of experience working with homeless population who struggle with mental illness and substance use disorder

· Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus

· Proficient computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and/or climb stairs. Occasionally, the employee will have to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Salary:

$43,000 to $45,000 annually
