Form of workSummer Camp Advisory Team is the provider of IDEAS Summer Camp at Columbus School for Girls. Our mission is to enrich the lives of children by simultaneously fostering fun and building character. Leadership, teamwork, preparation, initiative, and effort are life skills echoed repeatedly throughout our curriculum. We hire experienced and extraordinary teachers, coaches, and students of education, who are dedicated to cultivating these skills.
Position OverviewAn IDEAS SummerCamp Counselor will daily implement a supplied Day Camp curriculum using supplied materials for a small group of campers ages 3-12. Counselors lead a wide variety of camp activities and classes, while being responsible for the safety, enjoyment, and emotional well-being of every IDEAS Summer Camper.
IDEAS SummerCamp Counselors will benefit from the following amenities:

Job Description: An IDEAS SummerCamp Counselor, while leading a wide variety of camp activities and classes, is responsible for the safety, enjoyment, and emotional well-being of every IDEAS Summer Camper. Counselors rely on supplied curriculum and materials to guide daily camper activities.
Anticipated Work Hours Per Week:
35-40
Wage: This position pay rate is $15.50/hr
Schedule: Camp operates Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. *Shifts are arranged with the Camp Director and posted weekly.
June 10 - August 2
Must be able to attend required training:
- In-person PAID training on Saturday, June 8 & Sunday, June 9 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Counselor Postition Expectations:
- Strong commitment to educational programming for kids and teenagers
- Access to reliable automobile for entire duration of the Summer Camp season
- Access to a reliable mobile phone device (i.e. iPhone, Android, etc.)
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to meet changing work needs and demands
- Ability to work collaboratively on a high-functioning team
- Openness to feedback and desire to grow professionally
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
- Ability to communicate clearly, maturely, and compassionately with students and families
- Ability to maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy, and exceptional enthusiasm all day, every day, for the duration of the summer
Experience & Education:
- High School Degree (Seniors Graduating in Spring 2024 may apply)
- Completion of or pursuing a bachelor's degree preferred
- 1 year working with children
