Robert K Fox YMCA of Lancaster Ohio is now accepting applications for Day Camp Counselors. If your major is in education, this is a wonderful opportunity to grow your resume. Or, if you just enjoy working with kids and you want first-hand experience working with children and or pre-teens, this is the right job for you. You will have the opportunity to turn this into a permanent part-time position after camp ends. We offer a Monday through Friday schedule. Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensures the guidance and safety of all campers in the group.
- Oversee operations of the site in the absence of the Director.
- Cares for and maintains all camp equipment and facilities used by the counselor’s group
- Maintains positive relationships with campers, parents and staff members.
- Notify Camp Director of needed supplies.
- Support the Camp Director in the planning, supervision, and leading of selected activities such as crafts, songs, stories, games, sports, special events, and character development
- Promotes the YMCA Mission and Character Development in all activities.
- Attends all required staff pieces of training and weekly staff meetings.
- Provides a positive adult role model.
- Ensures the guidance and safety of all campers.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- At least 18 years old
- Experience working with special needs children and adults.
- CPR and First Aid training, Communicable Disease, Child Abuse
- Other training as dictated by Director
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
