OPPORTUNITY
The Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Program Coordinator will work under the leadership of the Director of Social Science and Electives Programs to support the implementation and assessment of Green Dot's Visual and Performing Arts programs and activities across Green Dot Public Schools California's (GDPSC) 18 schools.

This is a Central Office position which will require travel to school sites. The VAPA Program Coordinator works year-round and is a grant-funded position.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and coordination
> Assess the current state of Visual and Performing Arts at GDPSC and develop a strategic plan for staffing, development, and growth of Arts Programs at GDPSC
> Monitor implementation of strategic plan for VAPA
> Measure program effectiveness through ongoing data analysis
> Coordinate with the Director of Social Science and Electives Programs, school administrators and teachers to ensure grant funds maximize impact on students
> Act as a consultant to the schools and area superintendents on the selection of GDPSC Visual and Performing Arts personnel
> Develop and manage the organization wide budget for arts education programs initiatives and maintain records to track and monitor internal and external resources
> Organize, coordinate and integrate VAPA programs and services to respond to the needs and strengths of each campus
> Serve as an organization wide resource for school sites regarding visual and Performing Arts
> Serve as liaison between GDPSC and community arts organizations/institutions
> Plan and produce district wide performances and special events designed to showcase the abilities and talents of GDPSC students.
> Oversee all arts communications including website, social media pages and print materials
Training and Staff Development
> Provide coaching services (observation/debrief, co-planning, student work analysis, etc.) to VAPA teachers/departments across the organization
> Develop/coordinate and implement VAPA professional development in the arts in alignment with VAPA standards, curriculum and assessment for teachers and administrators
Other
> Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
As an ideal candidate, you:
> have a bachelor's degree (master's degree in education (or related field) preferred)
> have a valid CA Single Subject Credential in Visual or Performing Arts - including the successful completion of the CBEST and CSET examinations
> have at least five years of experience working in visual and Performing Arts education
> are proficient in subject matter including CA State Framework for visual and Performing Arts
> are proficient in adult learning theory and new teacher development
> are highly skilled at project planning
> possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
> possess both knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population (EL, SEL, SpEd, as well as gifted and talented)
> have experience developing and facilitating professional development
> can demonstrate a deep commitment to continuous improvement, including an openness to coaching from managers and other team members and a drive to learn and grow
> are fluent in MS Office Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides and Outlook
> are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve
> will be able to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
> will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required)

COMPENSATION
The starting salary for this position is $90,000-100,000, based on education and experience. In addition, if hired by June 30, 2024, this position qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change).
