dormakaba is seeking a Buyer to join the plant procurement organization in our Reamstown, PA production facility. This role will report directly to the Purchasing Manager and work closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Planning, Regional and Global Procurement, and suppliers. The Buyer is responsible for management of the supplier base necessary for the direct procurement of assigned commodities, including MRO, MRP, Logistics, Service Equipment and Capital Equipment.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $85,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage MRP and perform procurement of assigned commodities to support factory production and customer orders
- Evaluate MRP purchase requisitions and inventory levels to optimize inventory levels and working capital
- Manage, maintain and evaluate on-going supplier performance improvements
- Work closely with Category Managers to monitor market indicators and develop strategic buys
- Interact with internal and external customers/suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction
- Supplier selection in assigned commodities
- Negotiate contracts, materials master agreements, and develop consignment-blanket order agreements under the direction of the Purchasing Manager
- Perform cost analysis, value analysis and target costing
- Perform supplier assessment, appraisal, selection and development of approved supplier list
- Perform inquiry, bid quotation analysis and negotiation planning
- Develop supplier consolidation strategies and source new technologies in assigned commodities
- Resolve chronic supplier quality resolution
- Purchase capital equipment and corporate services
WHAT WE REQUIRE
- 5+ years of purchasing/supply management experience
- Experience procuring for a manufacturing facility
- Negotiation skills
- Research/analysis skills
- Basic understanding of contracts and legal documents
- NAPM seminars, training, or certifications
- Proficient in Excel
