Role Overview:

The Order Fulfillment Process Buyer is responsible for assisting the Venturi Supply Energy Segment in contacting suppliers and vendors to source and purchase a variety of materials for the segment. Negotiates pricing and works closely with the Segment Purchasing Leader to meet cost and shipping requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Sources, negotiates price and completes purchase requisitions for requested supplies and materials.
• Initiates purchase orders utilizing the Eclipse system.
• Identifies the most cost-effective sources for supplies and materials that will meet customer specifications.
• Checks order statuses and communicates to coworkers and customers.
• Follows up on orders as needed.
• Respond promptly when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence, faxes and emails on the purchasing and sourcing of materials for the Energy segment.
• Act as a liaison between the Purchasing Department and all internal customers, management and vendors as directed.
• Communicates with coworkers, management, suppliers and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.
• Assist with preparation and assembly of purchasing and shipping documents; distribute documents and other information to suppliers and vendors for bids; maintain records and utilize Eclipse system for all purchasing and inventory.
• Respond appropriately to inquiries from sales and the warehouse on materials and shipping specifications, maintain databases and registries of pricing and vendor information.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in buying or purchasing role, preferably in energy market.
• Experience in basic negotiations, cost analysis and supplier agreements.
• Experience coordinating with suppliers to achieve resolutions to supplier quality concerns, invoicing issues and past due accounts.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers
• Organized, attention to details, confidentiality, self-directed.
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel as well as an inventory management system – preferably Eclipse.
• Ability to pass background check where required.
