Job Description
Position Summary:
As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring procurement and stock replenishment of components for the Unical Sales team is done timely and cost-effective. This position will be responsible in managing inventory management and replenishment model under the guidance of the Procurement Leader. This position requires a deep understanding of the industry, knowledge of materials, establishing and managing relationships with suppliers. You will collaborate closely with various departments to meet sales goals, maintain inventory levels, and uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Research products, prepare purchase orders and places orders, and selects vendors.
- Organizes product information and tracks back orders.
- Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation, & input all information into QTM or other systems, including but not limited to: VQ, PO, latest delivery schedule, AWB etc.
- Negotiate & obtain materials from suppliers at the best value of materials with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
- Actively monitor status of suppliers scheduled ship dates, expediting where required, and maintain accurate shipping information at all times.
- Coordinate with Account Payable on prepayment, assist with any outstanding payment issues, and any discrepancies on invoice pricing.
- Respond to commercial team requests, including shortages, within set response-time guidelines.
- Timely management of any supplier issues (i.e. cost, quality, delivery, customer service, and invoice discrepancies) to meet established objectives.
- Establish and maintain sound professional relationships with suppliers.
- Understand and adhere to specific customer part certification requirements.
- Track and report cost savings or avoidances.
- Maintain current accurate records and files of all vendor procurement records.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 2-4 years minimum experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Professional level of data analysis skill utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems – Inventory Management, Purchasing or Sales.
- Strong ability to multi-task.
- Organized, attentive to detail, able to produce consistently high-quality work.
- Team player with good judgment, tact, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Good business acumen and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Able to work effectively with cross-regional teams in a multi-cultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, specifications, and industry standards.
- Quantum knowledge and experience.
Travel: Travel may be required with notice.
Language: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time working with a computer.
- Ability to lift/carry 10 lbs.
Working Conditions: This position primarily works in an office environment and on occasion the onsite warehouse and/or aviation repair shop environment.
