Summary of position:
The Accountant manages and maintains a sound budgetary process and provides timely and accurate financial information according to regulations and guidelines for federal, state, and local projects.
Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details):
- Provide all programs for which responsibility has been assigned with:
- Development and monitoring of budgets.
- Completion of financial reports.
- Additional and updated financial reports and budget analysis/projections.
- Reconciliation of financial reports monthly.
- Preparation of records for audit.
- Compliance to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Compliance to program guidelines.
- Completion of budget revisions and transfers.
- Monthly billings and quarterly reports for all programs.
- Budgeting for new grant proposals.
- Ensure accuracy of all required expenditure reports and submit the same to funding sources by due date.
- Prepare special projects, budgets, analyses, and unit cost calculations for programs.
- Perform reconciliation of general ledger activity for audit review and enter corrections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.
- Three (3) years experience in budgeting, fund accounting, grant reporting, internal control, and financial statement preparation preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other program personnel.
- Ability to effectively listen and communicate in writing and orally with members of management, departmental and program staff -, and external clients.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups and participate in problem solving.
Schedule:
Full-time, 35 hours/week, 12 months/year

Established by the Intermediate Unit Board of Directors per the Compensation and Benefits Plan for Technology Support Services
