Role Title: Business Operations Analyst
Duration: 7 months

Project Overview:
Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with a mission to make it safe and easy for people and things to get where they’re going. Since our start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has been focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World’s Most Experienced Driver™—to improve everyone's access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. Our Waymo Driver powers Waymo One, our fully autonomous ride-hailing service, as well as Waymo Via, our trucking and local delivery service. To date, Waymo has driven over 20 million miles autonomously on public roads across 25 U.S. cities and conducted over 20 billion miles of simulation testing.
Overall Responsibilities:
As the key support role for the Waymo Hardware engineering team, you will take a can-do approach to keep the organization running efficiently and effectively from an operations perspective. You will provide project coordination skills to support daily operations, as well as tactical and strategic initiatives. In this role you will interact daily with the leadership and broader team for Waymo. You are responsible for maintaining smooth operations across the different offices.

Overall, Mission: Find unique ways to make the hardware team operate quickly and efficiently, while keeping morale and productivity extremely high.
Be a good partner working cross-functionally across the hardware team:
- Partner effectively on behalf of the management team cross-functionally to drive key strategic processes and initiatives.
- Proactively identify problems and issues across organizations and create programs and processes to solve them.
- Team Recognition/Morale: Develop and maintain process for recognition of high performers via quarterly & monthly awards.
Monitor overall program health:
- Track and influence vendor progress for quick-turn parts during engineering prototype development
- Ensure completion of non-disclosure agreements (“NDA”) documents with suppliers involved in projects
- Work with the Waymo purchasing team to finalize purchase orders (“PO”) for payments
- Track and provide support for escalating operational problems
Keep the contracts and deal pipeline moving:
- Ensure high quality SOWs are written.
- Always ensure appropriate level of legal review and compliance.
- Ensure all contractual matters for the hardware team are moving through the process quickly and efficiently.
- Meet with compliance to make sure we have a good score card and take actions to address areas where we are deficient.

- 5 years’ relevant work experience.

- Ability to work across global cultures, an influence senior manager without authority.
- Knowledgeable about and able to work across multiple functions – including Legal, Finance, Product, Engineering, Supplier Development, Purchasing, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Ability to identify problems and issues across organizations and create programs and processes to solve them.
- Strong communicator — written, verbal and presentation.
- Ability to design and/or utilize technology-enabled automation to streamline processes, increase service quality, improve service delivery, or contain costs.
- Ability to partner with and influence clients, partners, and/or service providers. This includes setting service level agreements (SLAs) and taking a consultative and data-driven approach.
- Ability to understand stakeholder needs through dialogue before conducting analysis and making recommendations.

- Knowledge of project planning methodology, deployment planning process, and sequence. This includes the ability to understand, or to manage smaller parts or phases of a bigger project, or an understanding of how to translate capacity demand into a low-level production system project plan.
- Knowledge of how queues and tickets are managed and the ability to effectively address queue or ticket related issues.
