Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing our knowledge management and business intelligence capabilities to support our attorneys and drive the firm's growth.
Job Summary:
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, analysis, and data-driven insights to empower our attorneys, business development initiatives, and overall decision-making processes. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence to help us better serve our clients and achieve our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on legal, industry, and market trends. Analyze data to provide actionable insights for attorneys, business development, and strategic planning.
- Client Intelligence: Liaise with the marketing department to deliver proactive analysis on clients and potential clients. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and client relationship enhancement.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, summaries, and customized briefs for attorneys, RFP responses, pitches, and strategic initiatives. Ensure the information is presented clearly and effectively.
- Knowledge Management: Support the firm's knowledge management initiative by investigating, implementing, and training on relevant technologies. Maintain practice-specific resources and databases.
- Alert Systems: Establish intelligence alert systems to keep attorneys informed about clients, cases, and industry-specific developments.
- Legal Research: Monitor changes in statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, and business environments. Share updates through bulletins, training, and know-how meetings.
- Competitor Analysis: Create competitor profiles and newsletters. Conduct social-network surveillance to stay informed about market trends.
- Data Visualization: Utilize visualizations to make complex data easily understandable and actionable.
- Attorney Support: Collaborate with attorneys to understand their research and knowledge management needs. Provide training on KM Research resources and ensure resource availability across all offices.
- Strategic Involvement: Enhance your role in strategic initiatives, market expansion, and product/service design and launch.
- Technology Integration: Develop, manage, and promote new information resources and technologies to improve efficiency, including templates and model forms.
- Time Tracking: Accurately track time spent on research for client billing purposes.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Library Science or equivalent from an ALA accredited school.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a law firm library or corporate law library environment.
- Proficiency in electronic research tools and resources, including Westlaw, Lexis, PitchBook, Practical Law, and others as relevant.
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with SharePoint is beneficial.

Reporting Relationship:
This position reports directly to the Director of Knowledge Management and Information Research.
