SUMMARY

The Business Development Specialist supports and works with both the Business Development team but will also integrate with many other Redgrave Data personnel that perform and support Business Development initiatives. This role works to drive Business Development (BD) strategies, expand client relationships, and support revenue increase and brand recognition. This position collaborates with the broader BD team on day-to-day activities, including managing client and prospect events, responding to and coordinating requests for proposals and pitch opportunities, preparing market and client analysis reports, analyzing data and conducting business and market intelligence research.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Support RFP response and pitch development process by providing market and client research to ensure customized and tailored responses.
  • Provide the Marketing Manager and Business Development Leadership with market intelligence and feedback to guide the drafting and maintenance of Business Development collateral, including brochures, slicks, and presentations.
  • Oversee CRM and prospect documentation, including tracking new and existing contacts, companies, proposal, meetings, special Business Development notes and opportunities.
  • Facilitate and qualify net new meetings for Business Development.
  • Generate new sales leads and gain market position for Redgrave Data, including lead generation through email and phone outreach.
  • Identify and develop new business leads by prospecting, networking, using social media, and referrals.
  • Build and monitor the sales pipeline to ensure a continuous population of immediate and long-term opportunities.
  • Ensure Business Development pipeline reports are accurate and current.
  • Track business OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) with regards to Business Development including, but not limited to, tracking proposals, meetings, pipeline activity, and opportunity wins and losses.
  • Coordinate client event and conference logistics, including managing pre-event research and logistics oversight, attendee tracking, follow-up, as well as providing onsite support and liaising with other departmental teams as needed, including coordination with Marketing Manager concerning event material development, speaker logistics, and external promotion and communications.
  • Ensure all active Business Development relationships and opportunities receive the appropriate follow-up communication and general attention through the sales cycle.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with developing and distributing tailored email campaigns.
  • Coordinate follow-up on inbound leads and sales inquiries.
  • Support the overall management and tracking of all defined sales campaigns.
  • Compile business and industry research in support of new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with BD Managers/Associate Directors as needed on cross-selling initiatives, client coverage teams, client feedback and experience management.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with client relationship management (CRM) software and industry research tools such as ZoomInfo and email campaign generation and monitoring analytics

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of demonstrated success in marketing, communications, and/or Business Development-related field, either in professional services (e.g., law, accounting, or consulting) or in a comparable position(s) in the corporate, technology, trade association, or academic sectors.
