Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for capturing, developing and management of OEM, MRO, and distribution customers in OH, PA, and upstate NY with a focus on exceptional customer service. The position directive is to introduce marketing and sales strategies while developing relationships that expand our client’s customer base and contribute to company growth.
Reporting Relationships:
The Business Development Manager reports directly to the GM/CSO.
Region: OH, PA, and upstate NY
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Meet or exceed targeted sales and margin growth in assigned territory
- Prospect and develop new leads
- Develop business relationships with key resellers and distributors for the purpose of increasing share of customer purchases and improving revenue and gross margin
- Assist in the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies
- to support business growth
- Create and manage on-going sales goals, metrics, and progress through effective
- sales cadence
- Effectively use CRM tools to manage account activity and communications with our client’s internal and external personnel
- Assess and manage the effectiveness of products and services by being the
- bridge between customers, manufacturers, and our client
- Meet or exceed targeted sales goals and margins
- Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge relevant to that required to fulfill job responsibilities
Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge:
- General knowledge of OEM, MRO and reseller customers’ needs and buying within a designated territory.
- Strong prospecting skills and ability to break through potential customer rejections
- Desire to learn technical attributes of our client’s products
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to learn and/or experience with the QAD or SAP ERP systems
- Solid computer skills with experience in using Microsoft Outlook and Office products

Education and Experience:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent; sales, marketing or engineering is preferred but not required
- 5 years of excellent performance in a sales environment
Travel Expectations:
- Travel as necessary, up to 50% outside of local sales calls made while working from home office
