Position: Business Development Manager - Pottery Category

We are excited to announce the expansion of our marketplace to include a new category: pottery. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead this new venture, fostering relationships with potters, ceramic artists, and suppliers while developing and implementing strategies to grow this category.
Role Summary
The Business Development Manager for the Pottery category will be responsible for identifying and establishing relationships with key suppliers, developing strategies to introduce and market this new category, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience. This role requires a blend of market expertise in the pottery industry, strategic planning, and execution to drive category growth and achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities:
· Cold call and engage with prospective sellers to explain the benefits of joining PlantStory.
· Develop and execute a comprehensive Business Development strategy for the Pottery Category, including market research, partner identification, and engagement.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with potters, ceramic studios, and suppliers to onboard new vendors and expand product offerings.
· Collaborate with the marketing and social media teams to create and execute promotional campaigns tailored to the Pottery Category.
· Engage influencers for campaigns to promote the pottery vertical on PlantStory as well as advertise specific potters.
· Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for category growth and improvement.
· Coordinate with the product and operations teams to ensure a seamless integration and presentation of the Pottery Category on our platform.
· Represent the company in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build brand presence and supplier relationships in the ceramics/pottery market.
· Set and achieve sales targets, revenue growth objectives, and key performance indicators for the Pottery Category.
· Up to 25% travel required
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Ceramics, Sculpture, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience in Business Development preferred, ideally in an e-commerce or arts and crafts marketplace environment.
· Strong knowledge of and passion for the pottery and ceramics industry.
· Proven track record of building relationships with suppliers and partners.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Ability to analyze data, understand market trends, and make data-driven decisions.
· Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and the ability to execute on initiatives.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
