Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including the use of mobility aids and equipment.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals.
- Provide assistance with specialized care needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and wound care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the overall well-being of clients.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified home health aide training program.
- Previous experience in a nursing home or senior care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to home healthcare.
- Ability to provide compassionate and attentive care to clients.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects or assist clients with mobility needs.
