Summary/Objective
You will be in charge of getting new drug development business opportunities to grow our business in that area.
The Business Development Manager will be part of Biopeptek Business Development Team and will identify and manage new project leads for Biopeptek custom synthesis business globally. The identification and discussion with potential clients targeting to establish contracts for process development, clinical supply and/or commercial supply. Activities will further include supporting the Business Development Team with cold calling of newly identified potential clients and selecting promising custom synthesis targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prospecting, developing, managing, and tracking of new custom synthesis opportunities with pharmaceutical clients from project identification to successful implementation and contracted supply of developmental or commercial peptide APIs
- Continually generate and feed a pipeline of new business leads via prospecting, networking, and other up-to-date methods, virtual or in-person, for Business Development.
- Have good understanding of organic chemistry, process chemistry, analytical chemistry, peptide manufacturing
- Monitoring project progress and managing all project aspects in cooperation with Biopeptek internal business partners (technical, financial, legal, regulatory, etc.)
- Ensure regular contacts with clients and the internal organization to understand customer's needs and drive project plans to meet these needs towards negotiation and contracting stage
- Preparation of and participation in trade shows and conferences to represent and promote Biopeptek
- Completing RFI and RFP's for submission to Clients
- Gather market insights, assesses market potential and the competitive landscape in the US to feed back to the internal group of actions required in order to generate business
- Provide support in proposal writing
Requirements
Qualifications Requirements
- 2+ years of BD experience with development and commercialization of custom manufacturing services and supply of clinical and commercial APIs, process development and other associated activities for pharmaceutical clients
Education, License, Certification, or Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. in Science & Engineering (chemistry, biochemistry, or related fields)
- Significant background in organic chemistry, analytics, process development, pilot and commercial scale API synthesis
- Strong knowledge and experience of USFDA ICHQ7A requirements
- Basic understanding of the drug development, quality and regulatory approval process and requirements as well as trends in the pharmaceutical industry
