RGD Business Development Manager
RGD Consulting Engineers is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our collaborative team supporting business operations in Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville, FL. This role is crucial to identifying, evaluating, establishing, and managing Business Development opportunities and relationships, and providing marketing event support for projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with RGD’s leadership team, alongside architects, contractors, developers, and other consultants to drive the company's growth in the MEP & Structural engineering sectors.

Job Responsibilities
- Identifies, qualifies, and secures business opportunities by cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial business relationships with current and potential clients in the MEP & Structural engineering sectors, including developers, private industry, architects, and local, state, and federal markets to strengthen and achieve RGD’s business objectives;
- Identifies and proposes potential business deals by staying updated with market intelligence in the MEP & Structural engineering industry;
- Follows up with contacts made at events and provides the technical leaders with contact information to cultivate and manage external relationships that can help achieve RGD’s business goals;
- Collaborates with technical leaders to gain insights about ongoing projects and identifies relevant events for RGD participation to assist in the expansion of business through a larger event base;
- Strategizes with technical leaders regarding pursuing various proposal opportunities in the MEP & Structural engineering sectors;
- Identifies and coordinates client-oriented professional organizations and events for staff participation;
- Develops and executes comprehensive plans and programs to support Business Development in the MEP & Structural engineering areas;
- Prepares, researches, and writes compliant, persuasive text for proposals and qualification packages;
- Tracks activities so that quantitative and qualitative metrics can be applied to the Business Development practice and objectives; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as engineering or business;
- 5+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or Business Development within the MEP & Structural engineering consulting sector;
- Comprehensive understanding of and experience in marketing and strategic Business Development within the MEP & Structural engineering sector;
- An established network and contacts with a proven track record of sales within the MEP & Structural engineering sector is strongly preferred:
- Willingness and availability to travel as needed in the central and northern Florida region is required;
- Strong project management background;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and persuasive presentation abilities;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator;
- Active involvement in local professional organizations;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with outstanding analytical, multitasking, and judgement capabilities; and
- Ability to effectively work both independently and within a team environment, handle multiple deadlines, and periodically visit branch offices.
