Spiro is hiring a Business Development Associate (Remote) to join our sales team. The Business Development Associate works in partnership with various departments including sales, sales enablement, and marketing, delivering best-in-class service. The Business Development Associate will be responsible for nurturing, creating leads via outbound calls, email, web chat, live events and meetings, research projects, and other targeted initiatives to generate qualified opportunities for our sales team. This position will be accountable for targets which may include measurement by lead volume, pipeline generation, and/or revenue.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
- Manage a large volume of prospecting by telephone, email, and chat, responding to inbound inquiries and conducting outbound campaigns
- Effectively build and manage a lead generation pipeline for targeted companies based on line of business
- Understand and confidently articulate the competitive landscape for solutions specific to each line of business
- Nurture prospective customers along the buyer's journey further qualifying the opportunity to the highest quality to hand off to a sales person
- Build strong relationships with the sales team and sales managers to further understand the needs across the line of business with respect to customer targets
- Support growth initiatives with research projects and other tasks in partnership with the new business sales teams
- Support a limited number of live events and face to face meetings on site - in partnership with the new business sales teams
- Leverage database tools for discovery, research and initiation of outbound calling campaigns to new prospective customers

- 3+ years experience in a sales, lead generation or customer facing role that is driven by quotas and/or sales goals.
- Hunter' mentality and willingness to be proactive towards reaching goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Sales, or other related field or equivalent experience
- Excellent prospecting, discovery and nurturing skills
- Highly motivated and disciplined self-starter
- 'Hunter' mentality and willingness to be proactive towards reaching goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Direct experience or capacity to learn a CRM application(s), such as Salesforce.com or other sales database
- Proficient in MS Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Position may require occasional travel, approximately 20-25% of the time, to various locations for meetings, conferences, and client engagements. Majority of travel will be local.

How to measure success
- By 30 days incumbent should become familiar with our company structure, product and service offerings and will begin outbound prospecting towards goal.
- By 60 days incumbent should be self-reliant on basic job functions and begin building a healthy pipeline in support of their goals utilizing various sales strategies
- Ex By 90 days, incumbent should be able to fully communicate our product and service offerings to prospects and continue building their pipeline
