Your Role: The BEP Consultant plays a key role in supporting visually impaired entrepreneurs in the vending business. They ensure legal compliance, customer satisfaction, and the overall success of the vending facilities operated by Blind Licensed Vendors. In addition the BEP Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Assisting BLVs: The primary role of the BEP Consultant is to support Blind Licensed Vendors in the successful operation of vending facilities. This could involve providing guidance, training, and assistance in various aspects of their business.

  • Compliance: The consultant is responsible for ensuring that BLVs comply with all relevant laws and regulations at the federal, state, county, and municipal levels. This includes adherence to policies and procedures governing the operation of vending facilities.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring that property custodians (those responsible for the property where the vending stand is located) are satisfied with the operation of the stand is crucial. This may involve addressing any concerns or issues related to the vending facilities.

  • Stand Operation: The consultant likely oversees and monitors the day-to-day operations of the vending stand. This could involve inventory management, quality control, and general business operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.

A bachelor' s degree and professional experience in Business Management, Business Development, or a related field. Four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for the required bachelor's degree.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to present and train groups. Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Employee will be responsible for meeting all designated productivity standards in a quality manner with minimal supervision. Employee must also be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, consumers and the public. Frequent travel during the week required with occasional overnight stays. Occasionally moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
Agency Preferred: Experience managing the food service industry. Knowledge of the Randolph Shepard Act (R-S) and code of laws pertaining to vending services.
