Job Title: Building Assistant
Reports To: Building Principal/ Manager of Food Services
FLSA Status: Non - Exempt
Salary Range: $15.49-$17.80
Hours: 7 Hours per day
August - June
Summary: The School Building Assistant has the primary mission of serving as the liaison between the school community and staff as a support of the instructional program. The Building Assistant is to assist the Food Service Department with the operation of the student lunch program at the elementary level so as to assure that students receive their daily lunch.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the registration of students, distribution of information to parents, and the collection of forms and fees.
Assist with the daily task of monitoring daily attendance, student tardiness or absence; and with any telephone calling or record keeping.
Assist with the supervision of students as they arrive or depart at the end of the day.
(15 minutes before the start of the school day 15 minutes after the close of the school day.)
At the direction of the principal, assistant with making, collating and /or distribution of copies
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

OFFICE DUTIES:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position begins two weeks before the first day of school and works through the last day of school Hours 8:05 am to 3:15
