Job Description
Financial Analyst Job Purpose:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for preparation, consolidation and analysis of budgeting, forecasting, and various internal reporting. This includes ensuring reliability and integrity of reporting. This position will additionally handle some accounting functions and fleet oversight, with a heavy focus on implementing process improvements, KPIs, and variance analysis.
Financial Analyst Job Duties:
- Perform analytical reviews, including researching variances between actuals, budget, and prior periods as needed.
- Prepare commentary related to monthly financial results in relation to budget, forecast, prior month, and prior year.
- Prepare monthly branch P&L reports.
- Prepare daily internal reporting of sales orders and revenue results.
- Prepare, develop and maintain master budgets and forecasts for all companies as well as departmental budgets, capital expenditures budget, monthly sub-schedules and manager templates.
- Facilitate the budgeting and forecasting processes by monitoring manager submissions and using judgment to determine if manager projections fall in line with the goals and expectation of executive management.
- Examine and communicate departmental variances by account.
- Prepare policy and procedure documents related to budgeting and forecasting.
- Conduct training regarding budget and forecast procedures.
- Maintain auto fleet reporting and analysis, working to enhance expense management.
- Prepare monthly journal entry related to allocation of fleet expenditures.
- Prepare, analyze and record journal entries related to commission reports.
- Separate commission reports for distribution to respective employees.
- Handle special assignments and responsibilities as requested by CFO/Director of Finance/Controller including, but not limited to, ad hoc financial analysis.
- Develop and document business processes. Identify opportunities to create operating efficiencies and improve processes.
Qualifications Required:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Dynamics GP ERP experience is desired
