Broadcast Engineer

This position is to fill a Freelance Engineer role as needed that Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is providing to TD Ameritrade (TDA) in Chicago staffing for a full time OTT network. This position will report to the Lead Engineer for instruction and guidance on daily task required. The Freelance Engineer will be responsible for, maintaining and troubleshooting all broadcast equipment within the production facility. During live and live-to-tape studio productions, the Engineer will oversee live transmissions to ensure a clean feed is received and being sent out. This position will assist the Lead Engineer in planned system upgrades and equipment maintenance and consult on future technical expansion. The Freelance Engineer will support production staff as needed in studio and or remote production.
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Provide technical support for technical facilities within the production environment and ensure all equipment is running correctly
• Support live transmissions
• Support video streaming both on demand and live
• Manage the Asset Management System
• Check in and out equipment that leaves and comes into the building
• Maintain equipment inventory logs
• Go on remote shoots as needed to provide technical support
• Assist with planned system upgrades and expansion
• Perform equipment maintenance as needed, ensuring to work outside of planned programming timeslots
Job Requirements
• 1-3 years of Broadcast Engineering experience
• Knowledge of live production,
• Experience with Ross products like Inception, Xpression, Carbonite, Streamline
• Experience with streaming and Live U.
• Knowledge of master control system
• Ability to travel as needed
• Ability to work late shift and weekends
