Branch Manager Position Description
The NBT Branch Manager oversees the daily operations of the branch, ensuring excellent customer service. The Branch Manager supervises bank operations staff, resolves issues, conducts training, ensures compliance and helps to expand the branch network. The Branch Manager will work closely with the Main Branch to ensure consistent processes and procedures are in place and that we proudly serve our community.

- Oversee a bank branch
- Ensure excellent service for bank customers
- Ensure bank and Federal policies are followed to ensure compliance
- Serve as Liaison between the branch and its parent organization
- Organize outreach to new team members and customers
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily activities of an assigned bank branch including, but not limited to sales production, teller and new account opening operations.
- Monitor and provide assistance and instructions to employees as needed or required
- Ensure excellent customer service and handle special or escalated customer concerns
- Ensure branch compliance with all operational procedures and abide by applicable banking regulations
- Ensures banking center security by ensuring all security procedures are followed by associates.
- Assist tellers in locating cash discrepancies and informing the proper personnel
- Supervise branch employees and perform all related managerial duties. Duties involve setting job expectations, planning, monitoring & appraising job results, coaching, counseling, & disciplining team members, and enforcing adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate leadership by fostering team spirit and promoting an environment that will encourage job satisfaction and team member engagement
- Assist in the hiring process
- Train new employees, and existing employees on an ongoing basis
- Recommend and assist in developing new policies and procedures as needed to maintain and improve audit readiness and internal controls
- Assist with branch budget
- Communicate news and learning opportunities to the branch employees
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
Skills and qualifications
- 5+ years previous bank management experience
- Familiar with all teller and new account opening responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills
- An affinity for problem-solving
- Financial analytical skills
- Highly organized with time and team management experience
- Strong communication skills
- An eagerness to grow the branch network
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of FIS Horizon
- Education in business administration or a related field
- Experience managing a bank or financial institution
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- An understanding of the banking industry and its best practices
- An ability to analyze and communicate financial data
